Baby Show Registration Extended


The date to register for the 2017 Baby Show has been extended to July 17. Register your child today!

The 2017 Nisei Week Baby Show will be held on Saturday, July 22 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo.

Most Photogenic Contest:

  • Contestant Must Be Pre-Registered
  • Photograph Must Be Mailed/Included With Entry Form
    (Photos Will Be Returned On Day Of Event)

Walk-in fee: $65.00

Deadline: July 17, 2017 to receive a confirmation email and/or phone call. Thereafter, walk-in registration only.

Baby Show open to all children of at least 1/4 Japanese heritage, one year old to six years – one month old are encouraged to run for the title of prince or princess of the 2017 Nisei Week Japanese Festival Baby Show.

Winners from all three divisions will have the honor of riding in the Nisei Week Grand Parade. The prince and princess from each division receive a crown, trophy, sash, special prizes and a personalized winner’s certificate.

All contestants receive a personalized certificate of participation, a beautiful 4×5 color photo (taken on the day of the baby show) by Toyo Miyatake Studios, and a goodie bag filled with wonderful gifts.

Children chosen as the most photogenic boy/girl will receive a custom medallion, special prizes and personalized winner’s certificate. Winners will be announced after each tabulation period.

Division: Age Range, Check-In Time and Cut-Off

Tiny Tots: 1 Year to 23 Months
Registration: 9:00am to 9:30am
Judging: 10:00am

Romper Stompers: 24 Months to 3 Years, 11 Months
Registration: 11:00am to 11:30am
Judging: 12:00pm

Jet Setters: 4 Years to 6 Years, 1 Month
Registration: 1:00pm to 1:30pm
Judging: 2:00pm

Food booths, game booths, arts & crafts, fingerprinting id (courtesy of the Los Angeles Police Department), Toyo Miyatake Studios (available all day to take your child’s picture), clown (available to make balloon figures) and more.
